Presented by Steph McGovern from a pop-up studio on a working farm in Northern Ireland, Farm 999 shone a light on the hidden dangers of rural life - from devastating farmyard accidents and raging fires to the rising tide of rural crime that threatened communities across the country.
The series drew on previously unseen CCTV, body cam and mobile phone footage to bring viewers into the heart of real emergency responses, animal rescues, and crime investigations set against some of the UK’s most stunning but remote landscapes. Reporter Paul Colgan embedded with emergency teams on live operations and training exercises, while Steph was joined in the studio by expert guests to explore the wider issues facing rural Britain.
With farming recognised as the UK’s most dangerous profession, Farm 999 is a timely and compelling tribute to the bravery of the farmers and emergency services who keep our countryside running - often far from the public eye.
